ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 17-year-old Allentown resident has been charged as an adult with criminal homicide in the shooting death of another teenager, authorities announced Saturday.
Yaniel Fermin was taken into custody less than 24 hours after the Thursday night shooting that killed Jeomy Miguel Soto, 19, according to Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca.
Officers responded to the 500 block of West Washington Street around 9:16 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man shot behind a residence. They found Soto suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Muhlenberg, where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m…
