It’s no secret that Muhlenberg has been undergoing significant changes throughout the past few years. From the outsourcing of health services to Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), to ‘Berg Outfitters, to changes to dining services, to the elimination of off-campus housing and the recent reopening of Martin Luther Hall– Muhlenberg looks very different than it did even five years ago.
With all of these changes that are visible to the student body also comes changes that aren’t as public facing. In November 2025, Muhlenberg College Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Curt Topper left Muhlenberg. President Kathleen Harring stated that this was to “pursue other professional opportunities.” Upon Topper’s departure, the faculty were sent an email explaining that the Muhlenberg College Chief Information Officer (CIO), José Dieudonné, would oversee CFO operations until an interim was appointed.
Larry Bomback, interim CFO, began his position at Muhlenberg in January. Before coming to Muhlenberg, Bomback was hired by Albright College as their interim CFO to make large-scale structural changes to avoid closure, including eliminating half of its full-time staff…
