A Monroe County man has been sentenced for his involvement in a straw firearms purchase scheme with his ex-girlfriend.
On Jan. 28, Ramon Roldan Jr., 41, of Saylorsburg, was sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison by Monroe County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jennifer Sibum. Roldan was found guilty on 29 second-degree felony counts of prohibited possession and acquitted of more than a dozen counts of providing false statements to purchase firearms, on Nov. 3 after a three-day trial.
According to the complaint against Roldan, he and his ex-girlfriend Melissa Saldana, 41, of East Stroudsburg, attended the Great Pocono Arms & Military Show in 2023. Undercover agents with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office saw Roldan handling firearms and purchasing a speed loader for an AR magazine.
