PHILADELPHIA — A Plymouth Meeting woman has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for a fraud scheme that stole $1.7 million in federal disaster benefits in the wake of Hurricane Ida damage in Montgomery County in 2021, the US Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia announced.
US Attorney David Metcalf said that Jasmine Williams, 34, was sentenced by US District Judge Kelley Brisbon Hodge for a scheme to defraud the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Williams was charged by indictment in April 2024 with one count of fraud related to a major disaster declaration, 24 counts of wire fraud, and seven counts of mail fraud. She pleaded guilty to all 32 charges in September of last year…
