$246K Stolen From PA Occupational Therapy Association: DA

Michael Fantuzzo, 40, of Lower Burrell, was charged after investigators say he stole more than $246,000 from the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association while serving as the organization’s treasurer, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. The nonprofit was headquartered in Plymouth Meeting at the time of the alleged theft, prosecutors said.

The theft came to light after a new board of directors was elected and began reviewing the organization’s finances, authorities said. That review revealed numerous questionable withdrawals, payments, and credit card purchases, prompting the board to report the matter to the Montgomery County Detective Bureau on Nov. 26, court records show.

Detectives allege Fantuzzo made unauthorized personal purchases between 2021 and 2024 totaling $246,708.03. According to the affidavit, the money was used to pay off multiple personal credit cards, fund trips to Disney World and the Outer Banks, cover country club membership fees, limousine services, property taxes, and pay for the purchase and installation of a hot tub at his home…
