The National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory at 1:57 p.m. on Tuesday valid from 6 p.m. until Wednesday midnight for Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The weather service comments, “Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around a light glaze.”
“Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible,” adds the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.”
