Plumstead Township is moving forward with a major step in expanding its emergency services, announcing it is hiring a full-time fire chief and fire marshal as the municipality establishes its first paid career fire service to supplement existing volunteer companies.
Township officials said the new chief will help build the department from the ground up, including hiring personnel, developing policies, acquiring equipment, and creating operational readiness.
