Upper Perkiomen investigates after ICE protest at high school

Upper Perkiomen School District officials are investigating after students reportedly yelled slurs at their peers protesting ICE. Around 30 high school students walked out of class on Feb. 11 to demonstrate against ICE activity in the wake of a recent federal presence in the area, including an immigration raid in Eagleville.

About 15 other students formed a counter protest, heckling the demonstrators and using anti-gay and anti-Black slurs, according to two high school seniors present and two parents of other students.

A parent said her freshman heard students who were standing around a counter-protester holding a “Trump 2028” sign chanting “Protect whites not rights.”…
