12 classrooms lose heat, forcing elementary school in Berks to close

LEESPORT, Pa. – Schuylkill Valley Elementary School dismissed students early on Monday and canceled classes on Tuesday after a heating failure affected several areas of the building.

The Principal’s Office told 69 News that there are 12 classrooms without heat, and several leaking pipes contributed to the issue.

Students and staff were able to return to class on Wednesday due to the installation of portable heating units. In the meantime, TRANE and other companies are making repairs to restore heat throughout the entire building…
