An early-morning police pursuit on Route 422 in Montgomery County ended in tragedy Saturday when an 18-year-old driver was killed and three passengers were injured after the stolen SUV they were in crashed into a concrete barrier, authorities said.
State police said troopers first tried to pull over a white Kia Soul for traffic violations on Route 422 eastbound. The driver did not stop, and the SUV continued along the highway before striking the barrier. Three other young men riding in the vehicle were hurt and taken to nearby hospitals.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania state troopers attempted the traffic stop near Lewis Road in Limerick Township, and the pursuit continued into Upper Merion Township before the crash.
