A petition calling for Quakertown Borough Police Chief Scott McElree’s resignation has gathered 700 signatures in about 19 hours.
Patrick Kovitch created the Change.org petition around 10 p.m. on Feb. 20 — several hours after McElree was filmed running into a crowd of student protesters, grappling with a teenage boy and appearing to put a teenage girl in a chokehold as a Quakertown High School anti-ICE walkout ended in a violent police confrontation.
