The mayor of Phillipsburg says sinkholes that opened up on Summit Avenue, including one that swallowed a dump truck, were the result of infrastructural failures beneath the roadway that require further investigation.
Authorities responded to calls about the roadway collapsing at Lewis Street and Summit Avenue on Monday, Feb. 16., providing an immediate response as sinkholes developed.
