Not long after plans for a proposed mosque were withdrawn in Upper Southampton, a similar zoning variance is being considered in Lower Southampton to add permitted uses to the existing Al-Asr Islamic Community Center along Buck Road.
Members of the organization are requesting to add permitted uses to the property including a “mosque and for after school religious and social activities,” according to an application. The site currently operates under a permitted use as a community center, which is proposed to remain.
