1 dead in I-78 crash near Berks-Lehigh County border, cops say (UPDATE)

One person was killed Thursday morning in a crash along Interstate 78 near the Lehigh County border in Berks County, police said.

Trooper Ethan Brownback, public information officer with Pennsylvania State Police’s Troop L, told lehighvalleylive.com the two-vehicle accident happened just after 4:44 a.m. near mile marker 34, between the Hamburg and Lenhartsville exits.

A pickup truck being driven by a 46-year-old male driver at a “high rate of speed” ended up rear-ending a semi-trailer and became lodged underneath, Brownback said…
