Pennsylvania State Police conducted a major traffic enforcement initiative along Interstate 78 on Wednesday, resulting in more than 200 citations and multiple arrests across four counties, the agency announced Thursday in a news release.
Troopers from Troop M and Troop L participated in “Operation Double Play,” a coordinated enforcement detail covering I-78 in Berks, Lebanon, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. The operation aimed to increase highway safety through proactive enforcement.
Officers issued 60 speeding citations and 143 other traffic citations during the single-day effort. They also issued 92 warnings to motorists. Law enforcement made two arrests for driving under the influence and one drug arrest. Troopers also apprehended two individuals with fugitive warrants…
