BLACKWOOD, NJ – The nationally ranked Northampton softball team picked up two more wins on Saturday afternoon, hitting their way past the Cougars of Camden Counity College, 18-9 and 15-5, in a Region 19 doubleheader at the Cougar Softball Facility.
The Spartans, ranked 10th in the most recent NJCAA national poll, exploded for 33 runs and 34 hits in an offensive outburst that lead the way to the doubleheader sweep. The Spartans are on a 8 game winning streak to open the young season.
“Our bats were hot again and led the way for us today,” stated Spartans Head Coach Eric Kutteroff, “Very pleased with the way we have swung the bats throughout the lineup and encouraging to see everyone contributing to the offense. We have also been very strong on the mound and have been making the plays on defense. It is early but this is a good sign for us and hopefully we can continue to build some momentum as we get deeper into our schedule.”…
