Norristown man jailed for strangling ex-girlfriend

NORRISTOWN — A Norristown man will serve a stint in jail for strangling his ex-girlfriend during a domestic-related incident in the borough.

Karel Kareem Johnson, 37, of the 300 block of DeKalb Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11½ to 23 months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of strangulation in connection with the Nov. 17, 2024, incident that occurred at Penn and DeKalb streets in the borough.
