COPLAY, Pa. — The owner of a popular Lehigh Valley ice cream shop has purchased a Lehigh County tavern with plans to breathe new life into the property over the next couple of months.

Rick Safi, the longtime owner of King Kone ice cream shop in Whitehall Township, has closed on the purchase of the 2nd Street Tavern, at 33 N. 2nd Street in Coplay, according to a news release.
