Homestead sales tax could appear on Forsyth County ballots

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Forsyth County voters could decide on a sales tax that would offset tax bills for owner-occupied homeowners as early as November 2027.

At a June 4 meeting, the County Commission unanimously supported a resolution to ask the county’s legislative delegation to take up a measure to add the ballot question. Lawmakers could consider the legislation during this summer’s special session, which will convene June 17, County Attorney Ken Jarrard said.
