A developer wants to build 216 homes on 134.39 acres along Watson Road, adding another large neighborhood to a part of Forsyth County already confronting the effects of rapid residential growth.
The land is currently zoned for agricultural use. To build the neighborhood, the developer is asking Forsyth County to change it to mixed residential use and approve several exceptions to the county’s normal development rules.
At approximately 1.6 homes per acre, the development would not be among Forsyth County’s densest recent proposals. That countywide average, however, does not show how the homes would be arranged.
