A major GA 400 exit change begins today, while North Fulton residents have another chance to influence the region’s long-range transportation priorities. Southwest Forsyth has reopened a local road, strong afternoon storms remain possible, and several notable business and cultural events arrive this weekend.
1. GA 400’s temporary Exit 5 arrangement begins today
Georgia DOT is scheduled to close the existing Exit 5 on southbound GA 400 near North Springs today and replace it with two temporary ramps.
Exit 5B will serve the North Springs MARTA station. Exit 5A will carry drivers toward Abernathy Road and Hammond Drive. The temporary configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately two years while construction advances on the GA 400 express lanes.
The change is particularly important for drivers traveling south from Roswell, Alpharetta and the rest of North Fulton. Choosing the wrong temporary exit could add a considerable detour, so drivers should follow the new signs rather than relying on habit. The work remains weather-dependent. 2. North Fulton transportation planners gather input in Alpharetta
