SUWANEE — It was up, it was down and it had a little bit of everything, but Makyree Cross got the last word.
Collins Hill’s senior quarterback and Troy commit experienced every emotion possible during his Senior Night. He struggled with efficiency at just 15 of 40 passing, but fired 485 yards, shook off three interceptions, ran for one touchdown and threw for five, including two crucial ones in the final eight minutes, to help Collins Hill win a wild 42-34 encounter over Mill Creek at Fahring Field in Region 8-AAAAAAA football.
“He’s a winner,” Collins Hill head coach Drew Swick said of Cross. “He’s trying to compete and he’s trying to score and he’s trying to win for his team. It’s going to happen. He uses his legs all the time as well, but tonight they had a great game plan for us. We exploited what they were lacking in the secondary, which we knew, and we didn’t have much of a run game other than Makyree running.”…
