Parents charged with murdering 8-year-old, beaten with rolling pin

In Gwinnett County, Georgia, a married couple faces charges of murder following the death of an 8-year-old girl, allegedly beaten by the 34-year-old stepmother with a rolling pin.

On January 30th at 2:16 p.m., authorities responded to a medical emergency call on Vine Springs Trace. Upon arrival, they discovered the young victim, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Initial reports indicated that the child had experienced a medical emergency while at home with Natiela Barros, the stepmother.

After contacting the girl’s father, who then initiated CPR and alerted emergency services, the police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Gwinnett County Police subsequently arrested Natiela Barros, charging her with first-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault, felony murder, and malice murder. The following day, Cledir Barros, the girl’s father, was also taken into custody on charges of second-degree cruelty to a child and second-degree murder. Both are being held without bond.
