Another chain with broken links: Hooters closes more than 40 restaurants, five in Georgia

Many Georgians will have to find a new spot for wings and memorable game-day views.

Hooters has closed five locations across the state as part of a nationwide downsizing of the company’s restaurant collection. Here are the closed Georgia spots, according to USA TODAY :

  • Hoots Wings by Hooters in Atlanta at 935 Memorial Drive NE.
  • Hooters in Brunswick at 10355 Canal Crossing.
  • Hooters in Hiram at 5464 Wendy Bagwell Pkwy.
  • Hooters in Macon at 112 Riverside Pkwy.
  • Hooters in McDonough 1858 Jonesboro Rd.

The company said these closures were due to “pressure from current market conditions.” Hooters didn’t give a specific number or list of locations, but research conducted by the USA TODAY Network shows at least 44 restaurants have been closed nationwide. The restaurant still maintains several locations in Georgia, including in Augusta and Savannah.
