A Lawrenceville woman says a male friend who was living with her beat her several days ago before refusing to leave her house after SWAT teams surrounded the house Tuesday afternoon to serve domestic violence warrants against him.

Channel 2′s Tom Regan was in the neighborhood and spoke with the woman who was inside the home during the hours-long standoff.

“They were looking for him yesterday, but he ran and came back. I got home this morning, and he was in the house. From there the cops were called and I’ve been just waiting in the house ever since, in the bedroom with him,” said Tiffany Makuch.

Makuch says she had been giving the man a place to stay. She says he beat her in the face and she still has bruises.

When he returned to her home Tuesday, she called police, who then called in heavily armed SWAT officers and a SWAT robot, fearing the man might be armed. The standoff ended three hours later.
