This historic Cobb County home could be yours for $1

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A historic home in Cobb County is being sold for $1 to save it from potential demolition in the spring.

The McAfee House, built in the 1840s and used by both the Confederate and Union armies as a staging area during the Civil War, is part of a historical landmark.

“This house has been for sale for years, and it’s a very desirable lot,” said Trevor Beemon, executive director of the Cobb Landmarks Historical Society.

The McAfee House used to sit on hundreds of acres of county land. Now it’s down to only two, perched precariously at the busy intersection of Bells Ferry Road and Barrett Parkway…
