Accused Money Laundering Fugitive Caught in Cobb County

Anthony Metichecchia, 43, of Marietta, is accused of being a fugitive from money laundering charges by Berks County, Pennsylvania, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Metichecchia is also accused of smashing the lid of a toilet until it was busted into pieces and ripping the curtain off the wall at a hotel room on Feb. 9 at 2:40 p.m. at the Best Western, 1940 Leland Drive in Marietta. He was found to be in possession of 16 driver’s licenses with his picture but the information on the licenses were for people from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts and North Carolina. He was also in possession of 17 credit cards belonging to different people, two forged checks, 23 pills of Drospirenone, seven pills of Nifedipine, approximately 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 2 grams of suspected heroin and 11 glass pipes with burnt residue inside from inhaling illegal narcotics, according to a second warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Metichecchia is charged with fugitive, 16 counts of false ID possession; 17 counts of card theft – obtain financial transaction; forgery – third degree; forgery – fourth degree; nine counts of identity theft fraud when using/possessing identifying information concerning a person; two counts of misc. possession of dangerous drug; drugs original container – misdemeanor; possession of methamphetamine; possession of heroin; possession and use of drug related object – misdemeanor; giving false name/date of birth; and criminal trespass damage. He was arrested on Feb. 9 at 3:18 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
