GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Fire crews worked to contain multiple small brush fires that broke out along two major highways in Gwinnett County.
According to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, crews responded just before 7 p.m. to reports of grass fires along the southbound lanes of I-85 between Flowery Branch Road and Hamilton Mill Road. Crews found two small fires on the right shoulder, which prompted a right lane closure while firefighters worked on containment, officials said.
At 7:13 p.m., firefighters were called to a separate set of grass fires along southbound I-985 between Friendship Road and Buford Drive. Several small fires were found on the right shoulder, and one lane was closed as crews, assisted by Hall County Fire Rescue, worked to bring them under control…
