Sandy Springs High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest after Tactical Maneuver by Police

A high-speed pursuit ended when Sandy Springs police arrested Jose Ramirez-Rodas after using a tactical vehicular maneuver. The chase, which occurred on February 28, involved a red Ford F-150 speeding through city streets while police pursued. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the incident began at 11:23 p.m. when Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department flagged the vehicle, and Ramirez-Rodas evaded deputies on GA-400 southbound.

Sandy Springs Police officers spotted the vehicle at 11:33 p.m. near the Interstate 285 interchange and attempted to stop it. The driver briefly stopped before accelerating and weaving through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph in a 65 mph zone, as reported by WSB-TV.

Ramirez-Rodas was eventually arrested after a Street Crimes Unit officer performed a PIT maneuver, a technique used to safely stop a moving vehicle. The maneuver ended the chase without further incidents…
