Lawrenceville Community Mourns as Parents of Nonverbal Boy Face Harassment After Tragic Drowning

The tragic death of a five-year-old nonverbal boy, Indi Bullock, whose body was discovered in a retention pond near his family’s apartment in Lawrenceville has been a source of deep anguish for his parents. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Chakia Carter and Isaiah Bullock are dealing with their grief compounded by death threats and harassing messages accusing Carter of her son’s death.

Gwinnett County police reported that Indi Bullock drowned, and although the autopsy results are pending, there were no initial signs of foul play. In the wake of this family tragedy, the Bullocks are now being subjected to relentless phone calls and messages attacking them during their time of loss. “People have been calling my phone ridiculously, and sending messages through Facebook, basically saying it was my fault because I was the one at home,” Carter explained in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Further illustrating the circumstances prior to the boy’s disappearance, WSB-TV reported that Indi was being looked after by a family member while Carter worked from home. Suspicions arose when Carter noticed an elongated silence during a song which Indi typically played on repeat.
