Gwinnett County PD explain use of social media to locate missing juveniles

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (April 2, 2025) – The Gwinnett County Police Department reported that it has received numerous inquiries regarding the number of missing juveniles posted on its social media platforms.

“Our efforts to share this information are intended to raise awareness within the community and generate leads that may help locate these juveniles safely and as quickly as possible. Due to Georgia Open Records laws concerning juveniles, we are unable to always provide full details or the circumstances surrounding each case. However, we believe that increasing visibility through community engagement can play a crucial role in reuniting missing juveniles with their families,” GCPD noted in a press release. “It is important to note that all missing juvenile reports, including those involving runaways, are treated as missing person cases. Regardless of the circumstances, our investigators approach each case with the same level of urgency and dedication to ensure the child’s safety and well-being.”
