ATLANTA — As summer break begins, school districts across metro Atlanta are making sure kids stay fed—even when school’s out, with free summer meal programs underway in Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett and Clayton counties to help fight childhood hunger.
All programs provide free meals for children aged 18 and under, with some extending eligibility to youth with special needs up to the age of 21. While many meals are served at school-based summer programs, several counties also provide communitywide access through libraries, parks and nonprofit partners.
Where to find free meals
Children 18 and under, or those under 21 with disabilities, can receive free breakfast and lunch at more than 30 sites throughout the county. While meals are guaranteed for Summer School and Pre-K students, several sites also serve kids from the community.
