Peachtree Corners City Councilman Eric Christ receives a lot of emails and phone calls about various city-centric issues — zoning laws, improvement projects, pot holes, etc. But he gets many more than he’d expect about a problem the city has little to no control over — deer. Having been on the city council since 2016, Christ has encountered the topic in townhalls and in casual conversations as well.
“It certainly ranks up there in the top five of topics of emails I’ve gotten from folks,” he said, adding that in the last year it has been the number one complaint. “Everybody loves having a few cute deer in their backyard, but when you have 10 or more coming up to your front yard and eating all your plants and your landscaping, it’s becoming a nuisance.”
It seems that, anecdotally at least, residents of Peachtree Corners are encountering deer more often than in past years…
