Authorities in Georgia on Friday announced they have dismantled a large-scale criminal operation responsible for stealing and fencing millions of dollars worth of electronic devices in a sophisticated “porch pirate” ring that stretched across the Southeastern U.S.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said the investigation began in November 2024 when its General Crimes Unit launched an inquiry into a series of porch piracy thefts reported throughout the county. A breakthrough came when suspects Cristopher Guerrero and Aldopher Valdez Sosa were arrested while allegedly actively committing a theft. Subsequent investigation revealed meeting locations and patterns linked to the broader criminal network.
