Man convicted of aggravated assault in Lake Allatoona shooting

The Lithonia man charged with shooting another man at Lake Allatoona last summer has been convicted of all charges, the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced.

On June 26 a Cherokee County jury found Gregory Eugene Hall Jr., 44, of Lithonia, guilty of all charges he faced at trial: aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office began investigating this case on Sunday, June 16, 2024, when deputies responded to a shooting just after 6 p.m. at the day use area near Sweetwater Campground, off Fields Chapel Road on Lake Allatoona…
