Where is East Palisades Trail and the bamboo forest?
This amazing trail is located in Sandy Springs, just a short drive from Atlanta. The trail is based within the Indian Trail District of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, which works to preserve a 48-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River in North Georgia between Atlanta and Lake Lanier.
But don’t park along the road to the trail! There are two parking options for the East Palisades Trail:
- The Indian Trail Entrance | 1425 Indian Trail NW, Sandy Springs
- The Whitewater Creek Entrance | 4058 Whitewater Creek Rd NW, Atlanta (generally has more parking available)
What can hikers and trail-blazers expect on the East Palisades Trail?
Besides a lovely hike through Georgia’s natural beauty, hikers will get to see breathtaking views of the Chattahoochee River, along a 4.2 mile loop trail full of rocky bluffs!
