Roswell Firefighters and Alpharetta Veterinarians Team Up to Rescue Puppy with Paw Stuck in Bathtub Drain

Firefighters from the Roswell Fire Department, in a display of compassion and professionalism, came to the rescue of a distressed puppy last week. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the young canine found itself caught in an all too tight spot as its paw got lodged in a bathtub drain. The crew of Truck 25 was called upon to tackle the emergency and embarked on a careful mission to liberate the trapped paw.

Attempts by the firefighters to release the puppy were not successful on their own. The situation, having assessed the puppy who was wriggling in distress, the decision was made to seek out veterinary expertise. Redirected by the puppy’s vet, the 11Alive news team reports that the fire department then called upon the Veterinary Emergency Group in Alpharetta to assist in the delicate rescue operation.

The team, led by Dr. Howard, who arrived straight to the scene, was critical in deciding the safest course of action. “Dr. Howard and two team members came straight to the scene, assessed the situation, and determined sedation was the safest option,” the fire department’s social media presence noted.
