And there’s one castle in particular that grabs our interest: a mysterious, private, hidden castle tucked away in plain sight… just outside of the city: Cagle Castle.

What is Cagel Castle?

Good question. Cagel Castle, or “The Dwarf Castle” is a pink and white marble structure that sits on the intersection of Cagle Road and Arnold Mill Road in Alpharetta, Georgia.

According to Atlas Obscura, a guide dedicated to the “world’s hidden wonders… from ancient relics to roadside oddities,”

…The house was begun in 1950 and was built by Rudy and Ruth McLaughlin. Rudy was a long-haul truck driver who told his wife he would build her a castle – and did! It was heavy work — mortar and concrete for the roof was lifted in five-gallon buckets…
