FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Two men from Georgia are behind bars in Franklin after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a local home improvement store, with investigators linking them to similar crimes across Tennessee and South Carolina.
According to the Franklin Police Department, Jaiquan Monplaisir, 26, of Norcross, Georgia, and Jahmeek Bennett, 23, of Walnut Grove, Georgia, were arrested after police said they took more than $9,200 in circuit breakers from a store on Mallory Lane. Detectives reported the theft occurred on August 11, with the suspects allegedly walking away with 100 circuit breakers from the business.
Monplaisir and Bennett are both charged with Shoplifting-Theft of Property and Organized Retail Crime. Police say the two are also suspected in a string of similar incidents targeting home improvement stores in Columbia, Tullahoma, and Shelbyville, Tennessee, as well as Greenville and Clemson, South Carolina…
