COFFEE COUNTY, Ga.—A Coffee County man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including rape, after he allegedly used a firearm to sexually assault a 17-year-old victim.
Jose Carlos Ramirez was arrested and charged with Rape, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnapping just hours after the crime was reported on September 17. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
In a statement, Sheriff Fred Cole said he was “devastated” by the incident but proud of his detectives’ “swift and professional response.” He emphasized that his office is committed to thoroughly investigating these cases and that crimes of this nature “will not be tolerated in Coffee County.”…
