Shyest Golden Retriever lost for weeks found 20 miles from home with gunshot in leg reunited with family

A family’s beloved Golden Retriever, named Havoc, wandered away from his home in Forsyth County, Georgia three weeks ago. How Havoc ended up in Jasper, Georgia, which is 20 miles from where he lives, remains a mystery. And why some unknown person would shoot the dog also remains a mystery.

Havoc’s scary journey began September 9 while he had been outside playing with his humans. Suddenly, there was a deer, and the chase was on!

Havoc’s owner, Tischa Cox Ross-Collett searched everywhere for him; tacked up posters, called animal shelters and employed the help of the community who searched for the dog and shared the news via social media.

Just this past week Havoc was rescued by a Good Samaritan:
