ATLANTA, Ga. — Toyota is recalling 54,631 hybrid vehicles due to improperly welded second-row seats that may not properly restrain passengers in a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced.
According to NHTSA, the issue stems from a change in a welding machine’s settings during assembly, which may have resulted in seat rails with incomplete welds. This defect could compromise the seat’s structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury in certain high-speed collisions.
The recall affects the following models:
- 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid
- Recall numbers: 25TB12 and 25TA12
Toyota owners whose vehicles are impacted are urged to bring their cars to an authorized dealership, where the second-row seat rails will be replaced free of charge…
