Kano had been at the DeKalb County Animal Services shelter in Georgia for what felt like forever.
Every day for five long months, he’d wag his tail hopefully whenever someone walked by, only to watch them keep going.
The staff adored him. They called him Skillet since no one knew his real name. He was playful, gentle, and full of life, but somehow, he just kept being overlooked.
Eventually, the shelter got too full, and Kano was transferred to another facility in Atlanta: LifeLine Animal Project’s adoption center.
To him, it was just another strange place, another set of smells and faces. But what he didn’t know was that this move would change everything…
