Multiple schools in Georgia announce early dismissals for Monday

GEORGIA — The City Schools of Decatur are sending all students home immediately Monday after a 36-inch water main broke on Midway Road, the district announced. DeKalb County Watershed is responding, but there is no timetable for repairs.

“At CSD, your child’s health and well-being are our highest priorities. Due to safety and sanitation concerns, we will close all schools, including College Heights and the Frasier Center, as well as offices, for today, Dec. 1,” the district said.

Parents were asked to arrange student pick-up as soon as possible. Bus schedules were adjusted for affected schools: Beacon Hill Middle School and Decatur High School buses left at 10 a.m.; Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary and Talley Elementary at 10:30 a.m.; and Clairemont, Glennwood, Oakhurst, Westchester, and Winnona Park at 11 a.m…
