ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — MARTA is set to buy 30 new buses thanks to a federal grant, the transportation authority said Thursday.
The Federal Transit Administration has awarded $27.3 million to support transit improvements in Georgia. About $20.7 million of that will be used to purchase the American-made buses, replacing old models.
The remaining funds, $6.6 million, will be given to BeepAVSolutions for projects in Cobb County. The most notable example is the Cumberland Hopper, a free autonomous shuttle that circles Battery Atlanta, Truist Park, the Cobb Galleria Centre and other locations…
