Georgia man in Mustang convertible arrested on drunk driving charge

A Georgia man driving a red Ford Mustang convertible was arrested on a drunk driving charge after a report he had been swerving “all over the roadway.”

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office received the report at about 6 p.m. Saturday that the vehicle had nearly caused several accidents and excited from Interstate 75 from Lake Panasoffkee.

A deputy found the car at the 76 gas station on County Road 470 in Lake Panasoffkee. The driver, identified as 80-year-old Roy Melvin Lantz of Marietta, Ga., stumbled out of the car, according to the arrest report. His clothes were in “disarray” and he smelled of alcohol.
