Two dogs cuddled in kennel as 2 tails wagged when visitors walked by and 2 hearts leaned into shelter life until one passed away

At the Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, Georgia, senior dogs Tia and Tamera had each other. They arrived at the shelter as strays, but according to volunteers, even when the two sisters were being processed as new arrivals, they happily wagged their tails.

Their bond was heartwarming:

Tia (brindle) would eat up all the treats. It was like they had an agreement – Tia would get the treats, and Tamera would take the bed. It seemed like they had a good thing going and were pretty content with shelter life. They shared a single kennel usually meant for just one big dog. How scary could the shelter be anyways, as long as you have your sister!…
