Chamblee Police Officers Lauded for Saving Man’s Life at Local Jiffy Lube with CPR and AED Intervention

Chamblee Police officers were recognized for their quick action and lifesaving efforts after body camera footage revealed their intervention during a man’s workplace heart attack at a Jiffy Lube. On October 30, the video showed officers responding to an urgent call where they found Pablo Santiago, an employee, collapsed and unresponsive due to a heart attack. FOX 5 Atlanta reported the officers’ administering CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) to revive Santiago.

Officer Dustin Bulcher, one of the first responders, recounted the intense moments in a statement obtained by WSBTV. “While processing and determining what was going on, I lost a pulse,” Bulcher said. The officers took turns performing chest compressions for over 10 minutes until their efforts resulted in Santiago regaining his breath.

This dramatic scene underscores the responsibilities police officers often face, extending beyond traditional law enforcement duties. Officer Brandi Boddy emphasized this aspect in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta, “We put this badge on, we put this gun on, we put this vest on and our job is bigger than just catching the bad guys.” All four officers involved received special recognition from the Chamblee Police Department for their pivotal roles in the potentially fatal incident…
