Father accused of deadly shooting of daughter, then himself after bodies found in Cherokee Co. woods

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a dad allegedly shot and killed his daughter and then himself on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the father sent a text of a location deep in the woods to his brother-in-law. When the brother-in-law arrived in the area, deputies said he found the father and the daughter dead and called 911.

Deputies said they later arrived to an area off Lower Burris Road at 4 p.m. and discovered the victims, 57-year-old Curtis Evans and his daughter, 28-year-old Emily Evans, with apparent gunshot wounds…
