Several GameStop locations across Georgia have closed or are in the process of closing as part of a wave of shutdowns confirmed in early January 2026.
The majority of closures took place Wednesday, Jan. 7, impacting stores in metro Atlanta and communities across the state.
Here’s everything to know.
GameStop locations closed in Georgia this week
The following 11 Georgia GameStop stores were confirmed closed on Jan. 7, 2026:
- Alpharetta: North Point Mall, 1198 North Point Circle
- Atlanta: Howell Mill, 1801 Howell Mill Rd. NW
- Augusta: Southpointe Plaza, 3209 Deans Bridge Rd.
- Cartersville: Shops @ Main Street, 455 Cherokee Pl.
- Cumming: Cumming Marketplace, 1060 Market Place Blvd.
- Dublin: Dublin Commons, 2421 Hwy. 80 W
- Hartwell: Hartwell Station, 115 Walmart Dr.
- Locust Grove: 4959 Bill Gardner Pkwy.
- McDonough: McDonough Square, 1144 Hwy. 20-81
- Stone Mountain: Stone Mountain Festival, 1825 Rockbridge Rd.
- Tucker: Cofer Crossing, 4363 Lawrenceville Hwy.
Several of these stores are now listed as permanently closed on Google, while others show closure notices on GameStop’s website.
Other Georgia GameStop closures confirmed in January
Two more Georgia GameStop locations have been reported to close but have not yet been fully confirmed and remain open:
- Atlanta: Lenox Square Mall, 3393 Peachtree Rd. NE #2027
- Fort Stewart: 345 Lindquist Rd., Building #71
